This painting has a special place in my heart. I was doing a series on Water's Edge and this famous pier at Gibson's Landing on the Sunshine Coast was where they filmed the Beachcombers. The light played with the pier and the water and I was mesmerized by the constant shifting of the water. I wanted to do it plein air but knew that I had to do this as a studio piece in order to capture that split second of perfect.
